Hannah Peel, Northern Irish composer, producer & broadcaster curates a selection of music that inspires her for the latest dCS Guest Playlist...

Hannah Peel is a Northern Irish artist, composer, producer and broadcaster whose work often crosses boundaries between electronic music, live instrumentation and sound design. Her soundtrack credits include Mubi's 2025 neo-western thriller Bring Them Down, the 2024 Netflix film Scoop and Sky’s serial adaptation of the classic sci-fi novel The Midwich Cuckoos, for which she won the Ivor Novello Best TV Soundtrack award in 2023.

Peel’s solo discography includes the electronic album Fir Wave, which was shortlisted for the 2021 Mercury Music Prize and the space-themed Mary Casio: Journey To Cassiopeia from 2017, a seven-movement odyssey scored for synthesisers and a 30-piece colliery brass band.

She is a presenter on BBC Radio 3’s weekly evening show ‘Night Tracks’, where she highlights independent artists and soundtracks. Her latest album, The Endless Dance, a collaboration with Chinese percussionist Beibei Wang, is out now on Real World Records.

About the Playlist...

"I’ve been presenting ‘Night Tracks’ on BBC Radio 3 for nearly seven years. It provides an incredible opportunity to listen to music from all over the world and through the centuries, too, on a daily basis.

Some of my favourite contemporary finds are on this playlist, but I’ve finished it off with two tracks from artists I adore outside of late-night broadcasting."
